Welcome back to Year1
We are pleased to say that all the children have settled into the new year and routines extremely well.
This term, we are reading the stories, Don't put your pants on your head Fred, The tiger who came to tea and The ugly ducking. In maths, we are learning to write the numbers correctly and have started to add two numbers together, in a variety of ways. The children are learning to work in small groups and gradually becoming more independent.
We have been from an Autumn walk in the woods, looking at some common trees and flowers, and have learnt about the different types of insects and animals in the world.
We also enjoyed painting a picture of our families in the style of L.S.Lowry.
To help us in school, please continue to use Bug Club and Busy Things and practise learning and spelling the HFW that have been sent home.
We will also be trying to do PE outside, so please ensure your child has a tracksuit in their PE kit. We are looking forward to continuing our work in Term 2. If you have any queries, please e mail your teacher and we will respond as soon as possible.
Welcome back to term 2 and lockdown 🙁
Just to remind you that there will be a Children in Need day on Friday 16th November and your child can come dressed in dots and make a donation on this day.
We will continue to have PE on Fridays, so please ensure your child has warm clothes.
In Literacy, we will be learning about the Great Fire of London, Guy Fawkes and Christmas. In Numeracy, we will be practically learning about subtraction and fractions. In science, we will be learning about materials.
Please take care and stay safe xx
