This term we have lots of exciting learning planned whilst we enjoy getting to know our new class. Our topic for this term, and next term, is How can we take care of ourselves? We will be planning activities across all subjects exploring this question.
In English our books include Don’t Put Your Pants On Your Head Fred! (where he learns how to dress himself properly) and The Tiger Who Came to Tea (which we link to our discussions about how we take care of ourselves through what we eat and drink).
In Maths this term we are focussing on counting, number recognition and writing as well as beginning to use number lines to add and subtract.
PE this term is on a Thursday and the children are taking part in Multi-Skills and Golf. Please ensure a full PE kit, including outdoor footwear, is in school at all times. Now that the weather is getting colder, the children would benefit from a warm top and jogging bottoms/leggings.
In Music we will be learning Harvest songs, and in ICT the children are familiarising themselves with different parts of the computer, and how to use them.
Please keep up the fantastic work reading with your child at least 5 times a week at home – it really does make a huge difference to their learning.
Each Friday we will be sending home our class mascots, Simba, Pumba and Nala, with a child whom has had a particularly good week. They come with a book where you can record your child's time with them. It needs to be returned to school in the following week. The whole class enjoys sharing their antics.
We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming parent consultations.
