Welcome back 4HW!
I hope you all had a lovely half term and are looking forward to lots of learning in Term 2.
This term is, of course, the term we traditionally begin to prepare for Christmas. Whilst this year things will be a little different, we do have some lovely festive activities in our bubbles to look forward to (including Christmas dinner and a party – details will be given a little nearer the time), and we will be presenting some Christmas entertainment to our parents and carers – although this will also be a little different this year.
This term, we have Football with Andy Booker. Our PE day will be Thursday or Friday. With the weather turning colder, could you please make sure that your child has suitable outdoor PE wear – e.g. jogging bottoms/leggings, a long-sleeved sweater and outdoor PE shoes - in their PE kit. (For football, 'astro' shoes may be worn but not studded football boots.)
At the end of last term, we began our reward system for home reading. This is going well, and I would like to thank you for keeping me posted via a weekly Friday email of your children’s reads if they are not using Bug Club. We will continue this on a Friday to Friday basis this term.
This term, we are also going to be setting English and Maths homework on a weekly basis. English will be set on a Monday, to be completed by the following Monday, whilst Maths will be set on a Friday, to be completed by the following Friday. As we are still limiting paper coming in and out of school, these activities will either be set on our online learning platforms Education City and Bug Club, or via a link at the bottom of this page. (Follow the link to the subject and then the work will be arrange by date).
If your child is unsure of how to complete an activity, or would like some help, please encourage them to ask me during the week and I will be able to help them. If your circumstances change and you are unable to access work online, please let me know.
We are looking forward to a learning-packed term and are especially looking forward to welcoming Mrs Hibberd back from maternity leave, later in the term.
As always, if you have any questions, concerns or need to pass on information, please email me on firstname.lastname@example.org.
