We will be resuming home learning now that we have settled back into school life. This will start with maths, reading and spellings. Unlike previous years, to minimise the papers travelling between school and home, we will be setting most of this online, using Education City and Bug Club.
READING - the children have all been allocated books through Bug Club, and we expect that each child reads daily at home. We will be monitoring reading from their online records, or would appreciate a weekly contact email to indicate other reading that they have completed. As before, rewards will be given for reading achievements so it is important that you do support and encourage with your child with this.
SPELLING - we are currently trying to finish the year 3 and 4 spelling words before moving onto year 5 and 6. Please find them saved on the web page and only do 5 a week. The best way to do spellings is to look at the word, read it, cover it then spell.
MATHS - we will try to set activities on Education City, however, sometimes a worksheet will be uploaded on the web page so please do check this. We do not expect this to be returned, but a photograph of the sheet, or email from you to say that the work has been completed, is preferred.
Having had a term 'settling in', homework is an important part of consolidating our learning in school. It MUST be completed and we will be keeping track of this. Should you have any concerns, your child is struggling with it or you are unable to complete it online, please do contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Below is the work set for Monday - we return to school Tuesday 17th. Hurrah! It has been a hard slog staying indoors for two weeks but we are nearly there! I have also attached answers so that you can give your child instant feedback and do any corrections together. However, please still email them through to me so that I can see if there are any gaps in understanding.
I also just want to say how incredibly proud I am of all the children working hard at home. I know home schooling is not easy for both sides (I have children too!) and I really appreciate the support, time and patience given during these last two weeks.
Please let me know if there are any problems, Mrs Decarte😊
