If you end up having to learn from home, there are always jobs set on Education City and you all have plenty of books to read on Bug Club.
Please email Mrs Palmer to ask for information about other work set for the week.

Welcome back to Term 2 of Year 5!
We are pleased to be back in school and kicking our learning off with World War I performance poetry; Mexico and the Day of the Dead celebrations; Remembrance Day alongside World War II. In Literacy we will be looking at the book Rose Blanche to study character, setting and atmosphere.
The adults in 5PT are:
Mrs. Palmer-Horwood, who teaches Wed-Fri
Mrs. Thakur, who teaches Mon -Wed
Just a few reminders:
Please make sure you have your PE kit in school everyday. We are doing netball on a Monday, but we might try to get extra sessions in before the weather changes. It is chilly now, so the children would benefit from wearing jogging bottoms and warm top. It's also important that they have a pair of trainers which fit, as we cannot be bringing lots of mud back into school on normal shoes.
Make sure you bring a water bottle, coat and your lunch box to school - you don't need anything else.
If you have any questions or want to discuss anything with us then please feel free to drop us an email at:
email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org
This term home learning will resume with Literacy being given on a Monday and returned by the following Monday; Maths will be set on a Friday, to be returned by the following Friday. Unlike previous years, to minimise the papers travelling between school and home, we will be setting most of this online, using Education City and Bug Club.
READING - the children have all been allocated books through Bug Club, and we expect that each child reads daily at home. We will be monitoring reading from their online records, or would appreciate a weekly contact email to indicate other reading that they have completed. As before, rewards will be given for reading achievements so it is important that you do support and encourage with your child with this.
SPELLING - weekly spelling lists have been emailed to you and the children are expected to practise these words at home, complete a test in school, and use the vocabulary correctly in their independent writing.
MATHS - Activities will be set using Education City, however a printable copy of homework will also be posted on this class page as well. We do not expect this to be returned, but a photograph of the sheet, or email from you to say that the work has been completed, is preferred.
Having had a term 'settling in', homework is an important part of consolidating our learning in school. It MUST be completed and we will be keeping track of this. Should you have any concerns, your child is struggling with it or you are unable to complete it online, please do contact us: email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
